Not everyone will employ a garden or landscape designer but it may be more economical than you think.
A number of Roy's gardens have been open to the public either locally or state wide including through the well-known Garden Designfest.
Roy is a qualified horticulturalist with an advanced certificate in horticulture from Albury-Wodonga which he studied whilst working at production and retail nurseries in the early 1990’s after moving to Australia. He is a member of Victoria’s Landscape Industry Association, Landscaping Victoria.
Roy is also part of an informal network of regional designers more focused on the landscape industry outside of Melbourne.
A wealth of practical experience in managing and constructing landscapes and gardens has been invaluable for designing artistic and practical solutions for clients. Roy has working experience of both Cool Wet Climates and Hot Dry Climates in a variety of soil types and local conditions that span the state of Victoria. Roy is committed to continuing to expand plant and landscape knowledge by conducting localised trials of plants, garden techniques and landscape solutions in order to offer clients useful and relevant landscape solutions.
Landscape design is Roy’s primary focus. ‘Creating a landscape that lets the sun, the wind, the rain and the wonderful world of living things connect us through a garden or landscape is a wonderful thing that everyone responds to when they find it. This is just part of being human but is easily lost in a lot of homes and gardens where these simple things are missing’.
When not designing landscapes Roy also makes Garden features and other art pieces.
