A long driveway to the house at this larger Roy Roberts designed garden terminates in a keyhole style roundabout with rose gardens and lawns to the front. This aerial image shows the layout including the integration of a full sized tennis court and swimming pool with cool green lawns, hedges for wind protection, ornamental garden beds and productive vegetable patches. The layout of this landscape and garden provides plenty of space for family events and real outdoor living.
Simple landscape earthworks at this Roy Roberts designed garden in the Shire of Macedon Ranges created open views back to the house and rising grass path up the slope of the lawn to the right. The steeper section below the specimen trees in the lawn is a place where children can roll down the grass in summer shade at this larger family home
This garden designed by Roy Roberts in the Strathbogie Shire shows a small private hedged area with open alfresco pergola covered with Wisteria for summer shade and is part of a much larger country garden. The image shows the use of a formal Pittosporum hedge and rectangular lawn area as an extension of the patio design.
'Hillside' is a private garden located in the Macedon Ranges and was opened as part of Garden DesignFest in 2016. The steep garden site was designed and developed in 2010 by Roy Roberts. The garden design makes use of the views out over the treed landscape of the town below. Generous gravel paths of compacted Lilydale toppings lead down to the lower level garden created by cut and fill earthworks. A curved hedge of Elaeagnus x ebbingei defines a graveled area where people can gather or simply sit out and read a book or enjoy the garden.
